PC | Monkey Island 2 SE takes LeChuck’s Revenge on consoles, PC this summer

LucasArts announces remake of Monkey Island 2 and the PlayStation Network version of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition. SAN FRANCISCO–Last year, LucasArts gave Monkey Island fans a chance to relive fond memories of 1990s adventure gaming when it announced The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition on the PC and Xbox 360. With the 2010 Game Developers Conference well underway, LucasArts announced at an event tonight that The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition is coming to the PlayStation Network “in a few weeks.” More importantly, LucasArts also announced that Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge will be hitting Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC this summer

Xbox 360 | The Adventures of Shuggy Hands-On

We sink our teeth into this cute and quirky puzzle platformer that’s on its way to Xbox Live Arcade. There’s always a certain charm to 2D puzzle platformers because they not only take you back to a time when things were simpler visually, but they also manage to stump you in those environments.

DS | 5th Cell keeping vision in video games

GDC 2010: Scribblenauts developer talks about staying true to the studio’s vision, even when it meant walking away from all the business they had. Who was there: Caleb Arseneaux, producer at Scribblenauts and Drawn to Life developer 5th Cell, appeared during the Game Developers Conference Mobile and Handheld Summit to give a presentation on his studio’s experiences going “From Mobile to Handhelds & Beyond.” Max may not look like much here, but he’s representative of 5th Cell’s uncompromising vision.

2D math is fun, but 3D math is even better in Nintendo’s latest puzzle game. Just one extra dimension adds a whole bunch of complexity. The original Picross was released for the Nintendo DS in 2007, and even though it had a mere 2 dimensions, it contained a ton of brain-stumping puzzles that were liable to suck players in for hours without letting go

At some point in our childhood we must have all fiddled around with plastic sliding puzzles–the kind with one empty space so you could maneuver the little tiles around and rearrange them in numerical order or to complete a picture.
