Black Box is bringing EA’s long-running racing series to a PC near you. You’ll soon be able to dive back into the world of Razor Callahan (among others) in the upcoming massively multiplayer online racing game Need for Speed: World from EA and developer Black Box. This is the first MMO racer from EA since 2001’s Motor City Online and represents a different approach than that ill-fated game; it looks to take advantage of modern technology while it harks back to two of the most popular recent entries in the series.

Xbox 360 | Superbike SBK 09 Hands-On

Two wheels and tons of speed; the motorcycle racing series is coming to America and we’ve got the latest look. The SBK Superbike series, which has seen a few iterations released in Europe, will finally make its European debut this year in the upcoming SBK Superbike World Championship 09. Representatives from the game’s publisher Valcon Games were on hand at the 2010 Game Developers Conference showing SBK off to the press.

GDC 2010: Hello Games managing director Sean Murray discusses the development process of his four-man squad’s IGF grand prize finalist Joe Danger. Who was there: The 2010 Game Developers Conference ’s Independent Games Summit continued on Tuesday with a session hosted by Sean Murray, managing director of independent startup Hello Games. Murray’s four-man team boasts veterans of such studios as Criterion Games, Electronic Arts, Sumo Digital, Climax, and Kuju, having worked on such franchises as Burnout, Black, Geometry Wars, and Sega Superstars Tennis.

Activision slots in Bizarre Creations’ car-combat racer for later this spring on Xbox 360, PS3, PC; beta sign-ups now available. Activision currently has its hands full with the PR fiasco surrounding the dismissal of Infinity Ward cofounders Vince Zampella and Jason Ward . The publisher would undoubtedly prefer to keep eyes on its games, however.
