Since SEGA has announced it will be localizing Yakuza 3 for the west, why not show you the basics? Yakuza is an action game with hardcore RPG elements. I usually refer to it as an action/rpg but other sites may not agree. Since Yu Suzuki no longer has a “prominent” role in SEGA it looks like we will never get Shenmue 3. Good news is not only does Yakuza play very similar to Shenmue but it’s just as good. Shenmue was often criticized for being too realistic and having boring tasks. Such as waiting for someone for 20minutes etc. Yakuza cuts through that and focuses more on action. The formula seems to work well. Yakuza 1 & 2 are available on the PS2. Yakuza 3 was released on the PS3 in Japan. Good news is it is finally coming to the west. The Yakuza 3 demo is available on the Japanese PSN. The demo is quite old so finding it maybe difficult.
